20+ years in Communications

Working with 100's independent companies and my own business

Former Owner and Director of an eight store giftware chain, experiencing roles from Marketing, Shop Manager, Logistics, Stock Control, Marketing, eCommerce, Franchise, Accounts & Payroll.

This foundation has given me a wide breadth of knowledge and understanding about all areas of retail operations, management and communication, focusing on each area for a period before training others and moving to new experiences and taught me to consider all effects of a decision and to respect the roles each person plays within the company and has also taught me to manage my own time and that of colleges and customers to maximise performance.

My role at Davidson Richards enabled me to expand my knowledge further across a range of retail verticals including Gift, Visitor Attractions, Garden, Fashion & Catering and apply my knowledge networking with over a hundred independent retails across the UK & Ireland. I also understand and have experienced the full product life cycle of pre-sales, sales, negotiation, procurement, installation, training handover and follow-up.​

 

My most recent work, since 2010 with British Motorsport Marshals Club (BMMC) as seen me take control of the Newsletter and creation of Social Media sites for the Midlands region which have grown from a standing start to over 1,900 follows on Faceook alone.  Rewarded for my work with the highest accolade, the "Shadow Trophy" in 2012.

 

Now also the National Public Relations Officer for the club, I am responsible for the communication to media and the promotion of marshalling and the BMMC  to the public both witin and without the industry.
